Stylish & Sophisticated Surprise Proposal
Jackie and Aliea’s surprise proposal was one for the books! The day was full of Romance and happy tears!
Not only was this special day eventful, but they were stylish while doing it! With a coordinated wardrobe and stunning color palate, their photos came together beautifully.
Jackie & Aliea’s first time meeting was at a bowling alley on the naval base in Yokosuka, Japan, back in 2017. A mutual friend introduced them. Eventually, it ended up turning into an amazing friendship. Their friendship was strictly platonic. They cooked for each other, cuddled up, and watched movies and shows together. But didn’t make it official until August 17, 2018.
“I think what makes our relationship special is our sync. We just know what the other wants without saying it or know what we’re feeling without being around each other.”
Jackie felt like it was a perfect time because it felt like everything was aligning. She had a particular ring that she had been searching for and couldn’t find for the longest time; and then, one day, she went to the store to grab a few things and decided to stop by the jewelry counter just to see what they had, and that’s when she saw it. The perfect ring!
Jackie proposed on August 17th because that day was their anniversary. She chose the Norfolk Botanical Garden location because Aliea told her that if she ever proposed, it needed to be outside at a park or somewhere similar. The Norfolk Botanical Garden just seemed like the perfect place.
Keeping her proposal a secret was the hardest part! Jackie ended up giving the ring to her best friend to hold onto just to give her peace of mind about it being in the house. She had to be cautious with her phone laying around, hoping Aliea didn’t see any messages about planning the proposal.
“It almost felt like I was being kind of mean because of how secretive I was, but it was for the greater good, lol.”
